It is always important to follow the washing instructions carefully to ensure that you get the maximum life out of your printed tea towel.
Care Instruction Label
The first point is to make sure you read the care instructions sewn into the tea towel. They should be easy to find on the underside and sewn into the side seams.
If you want to iron the tea towel it is best practice to iron the non-printed side. The inks we use are water-based and safe to iron, it is just the print will last longer if pressed on the reverse side.
The same applies to hanging the tea towel in the sun to dry. It is best practice to expose the underside to the sun when possible.
Instructions for washing printed tea towels
- Gentle cycle ‐ Cold machine wash only
- Use standard washing powder only
- It is not recommended that fabric softeners be used as they may strip the coloured ink
- Do not bleach or use bleaching agents of any kind
- Do not tumble dry
